Local towns and villages

Newtons Corner is located between the market gardening town of Melbourne and historic Castle Donington.  King’s Newton, leading to Melbourne is 10 minutes’ walk across public footpath and roads to the West.  Castle Donington and Donington Park circuit is walkable by footpath to the East.  The charming village of Wilson is a 10-minute walk South and home to a great country pub, the Bull’s Head.

Melbourne, South Derbyshire, has some good shops and great places to eat and drink.  Eat at Harpurs, the Bay Tree and Amalfi White.   The Spirit Vaults is brilliant for real ale and craft beer, and Stable Ales at Melbourne Hall is also fantastic for alfresco craft beer.

The best places to eat in Castle Donington are The Castle pub, and Curry Tonight.  Orissa is great Indian Restaurant for a treat.  The Apiary is good for a pub lunch.
